Abstract: Whether the traditional ornament art or avant-garde ornament works, expresses the perception and thoughts of designer by Shapes and colors which assisted by a variety of materials. Along with the development of modern art, ornament art of personal image design starts the "modernization" revolution. Especially the applications of new materials and new technologies, have great impact on the designs of ornament, and also give scope to the development of the pattern of ornament. Modern ornament surmounts various limitations of technique and materials of traditional ones. The method of mordern ornaments innovate on account of the variety of materials. The new patterns attempt to combine and mix different materials, transform and process junk. All of the above increase new ideas of designs of ornament.

Abstract: Harsh marine environment makes anticorrosion to be a technical challenge of ocean engineering. Glass flake, as the pigment for under seawater coating, is required by anticorrosion standard and has been the bottleneck of Chinese marine technology. Basalt planar glass flake is novel anticorrosive pigment developed by the authors, which is environmentally friendly, strong, heavy-duty anticorrosion, water impermeable, anti-weather and UV blocking and superior to the traditional c-glass flake and basalt glass-ceramic flake. Epoxy resin has excellent properties of film forming, corrosion resistance, low permeability, high adhesion and dimensional stable. Hence, basalt glass flake reinforced epoxy resin coating has significant advantages in the marine engineering, in terms of anticorrosion.

Abstract: A convenient method to synthesize curcumin and its five analogues, which were named as 1,7-diphenyl-1,6-heptadiene-3,5-dione,1,7-Bis-(4-hydroxy-phenyl)-1,6-heptadiene-3,5-dione,1,7-Bis-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-1,6-heptadiene-3,5-dione,1,7-Bis-(2-hydroxy-3-methoxy-phenyl)-1,6-heptadiene-3,5-dione and 1,7-Bis-(2,3-dimethoxy-phenyl)-1,6-heptadiene-3,5-dione respectively, via the Claisen condensation of aromatic aldehyde and 2,4-pentanedione in the presence of trimethyl borate and monoethanolamine under ultrasound irradition was reported. The corresponding physical properties were characterized by IR, 1HNMR spectra and elemental analysis studies.

Abstract: Crystallization properties of polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) during the isothermal crystallization at 245°C in the pulse magnetic field is studied by using X-ray diffraction, polarization microscope(POM), scanning electron microscope(SEM) and differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). We came to the conclusions that crystallization properties of PPS are changed under the influence of magnetic field; magnetic field promotes the perfection of the crystalline structure but inhibits the crystallinity.

Abstract: Wool fiber was dissolved with compound solvent(urea, β-mercapitoethanol and sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)) and stable keratin aqueous solution was prepared through filtration and dialysis. Dissolution rate under different conditions was disscused. The results showed that dissolution rate increased with the increase of dissolving temperature, reduction β-mercaptoethanol and assistant agent urea concentration and the addition of SDS. SDS PAGE showed the major molecular weight of the aqueous keratin solution was about 44.3KDa.

Abstract: Woven unit-cell geometry functions are presented for a balanced plain weave fabric. Based on the functions, a 3D geometrical model applying to a meshing preprocessor for 3D finite element is proposed. The geometry model takes into account the existence of the space between tows, the undulation of the tow, and the actual tow cross-section shape. The internal geometry of model is from micrographs of sectioned laminates, which is helpful to define the accurate and actual 3D geometrical model. The section shape of the yarn remains unchanged along the trajectory. This model can be easily identified using three parameters measured on a real fabric. An accurate hexahedral mesh developed using these geometry model is presented. This is an important point for 3D finite element simulation of fabric model, which is a powerful method to investigate the mechanical behavior and also the composites made from it.

Abstract: The PTT (Poly Trimethylene Terephthalate) fiber has been used widely in the clothing field for its excellent performance, but the application of its short fibers blended fabric needs to be further researched. At present, cotton fabrics and modal fabrics are chosen to make thin underwear. In this paper, PTT/Viloft/Spandex, JC/PTT/ Spandex, Modal/PTT/ Spandex, FI-R/PTT/ Spandex and Linen/PTT/C/ Spandex blended knitted fabrics of same count are chosen to study. Their air permeability, moisture permeability, thermal resistance, wicking are tested and evaluated. And gray pertinence method is chosen to make comprehensive evaluation on heat-moisture comfort performance of fabrics, the result is that Linen/PTT/C/ Spandex blended fabric has the best heat-moisture comfort performance. It provids certain theoretical support for the application of knitted fabrics made from PTT blended fabrics in the field of underwear.

Abstract: Recently revival made denim a prompting material in fashion throughout the world. For footwear design, denim as textile is the hot spot instead of animal leather in 2011. In this report the application of denim in footwear design is discussed. Denim has its specificity in aesthetic aspect. Also compared with leather, denim is more comfortable and healthy to wear. Designers have more freedom in decoration, painting, and composite material selections with denims in shoe design. The issues in manufacture of denim shoes are also mentioned in this work.

Abstract: This glass is to be produced from the glass raw material, Na2O-CaO-SiO2, as fundamental material with addition of CuO in combination as colorants. The analysis of Spectrum Transmittance and Chroma Index have been carried out on the different sample plates obtained in the glass melting. The test results indicate that the coloring effects by coloring agent in glass melting are greatly depended on the Oxidizability –Reducibility of mixed batch glass material. In addition, the followings have been also observed during the glass melting: When carbon powder was included and was in the Oxidizability –Reducibility state, it was found that it was difficult to melt the mixed batch glass material and a lot of air bubbles remained in the melted glass; When Sodium Nitrate(Na2NO3) was included and was in the Oxidizability –Reducibility state, it was found the melting glass was less sticky and better clearness of glass achieved. Good and clear test sample plates were obtained in the glass melting.

Abstract: TANGY Silk was an expensive fashionable fabric in 1920s and 1930s. Due to its smooth texture and the fabricating process, it is the most complicated among silk products. Through the instruction of TANGY Silk’s manufacturing technique, this paper discusses its ecology, expounds its value and probes into the prospect of TANGY Silk.
