Abstract: Previous studies showed that abscisic acid (ABA) play a role in oxidative and osmotic stress response of cyanobacteria cells. Whether it has function in metal stress response remains unclear. The effect of exogenous Abscisic Acid on Cu2+ -Stress resistance of bloom-forming cyanobacteria Microcystis aeruginosa was studied in this paper. The results showed that 20 mg. l-1 exogenous ABA can effectively enhance the resistance ability of Microcystis aeruginosa cells to Cu2+-stress at the concentration of 0.25 mg.l-1. Exogenous ABA can restore the growth inhibition by elevating chlorophyll a, phycocyanin and allophycocyanin protein content in Cu2+ -stressed cells. ABA helps absorbing more metal ions to decrease its toxicity by inducing solvable protein and cellular polysaccharides biosynthesis. By promoting the Superoxide Dismutase and Glutathione Peroxidase activities, exogenous ABA can effectively help scavenge the excess superoxide radicals in the cells caused by Cu2+ -Stress. These results indicated that ABA might also play important role in metal-stress response and resistance.

Abstract: Salvianolic acid B has many important pharmacological activities. A novel synthetic route of methyl acrylate derivative—an important intermediate to synthesize salvianolic acid B, was designed, and the target compound was prepared in seven steps of reactions with 2-bromo-3-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzaldehyde as major starting material. Its and other four important unreported intermediates’ structures were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, MS, etc.

Abstract: With 2-pyrrolyltrichloroacetone as major starting material, unreported 1H-3,4-dihydropyrrolo- [1,2-a]pyrazin-1-one was prepared successively by its monoesterification with ethylene glycol, bromine displacement of hydroxy group, cyclization to lactone and its amidation. Unreported 7-aroyl-1H-3,4-dihydropyrrolo[1,2-c][1,4]oxazin-1-one compounds were also synthesized in turn by 2-pyrrolyl-trichloroacetone’s Friedel-Crafts acylation and cyclization. Their structures were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, MS, HRMS, etc.

Abstract: Two shRNA sequences against porcine somatostatin (SST) were designed using software available on the NCBI website. The designed RNA sequences were chemically synthesized and cloned into lentiviral vectors (LV-siRNA1 and LV-siRNA2). Porcine somatostatin cDNA was amplified and cloned into pcDNA3.1 (pcDNA3.1-SST). LV-siRNA1 or LV-siRNA2 was cotransfected with pcDNA3.1-SST into NIH3T3 cells. Real-time RT-PCR for the detection of SST mRNA, revealed that LV-siRNA1 and LV-siRNA2 suppressed SST expression by 87.9% and 86.3% (P < 0.01), respectively. In addition, radioimmunoassay (RIA) for direct detection of SST indicated that the suppression ratios for LV-siRNA1 and LV-siRNA2 were 55.1% and 51.6% (P < 0.01), respectively. These data showed that the 2 shRNA sequences were effective in suppressing SST expression and may provide an approach to down-regulate both in vitro and in vivo expression of porcine SST.

Abstract: Peroxiredoxin (Prx) is an antioxidant protein, which protects organisms against various oxidative stresses. In this study, we isolated Peroxiredoxin cDNA from the muscle tissues of American white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei, using reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE). The full-length cDNA consists of 962-bp, which includes a 49-bp 5′-untranslated region (UTR), a 316-bp 3′-untranslated region, and a 597-bp open reading frame (ORF) encoding 198 amino acids. The signal peptide sequence was not found in this cDNA. We aligned the deduced amino acid sequence with the known amino acid sequences of Fenneropenaeus indicus, Fenneropenaeus chinensis, Marsupenaeus japonicus, Scylla serrata, Drosophila melanogaster, Bos taurus, Branchiostoma belcheri, Anoplopoma fimbria, and Rattus norvegicus, and the sequence similarities scores were found to be 97%, 96%, 95%, 83%, 72%, 70%, 80%, 81%, and 75%, respectively. We also found 2-cysteine (Cys) residues in this peroxiredoxin sequence. The RT-PCR analysis revealed that the peroxiredoxin mRNA was expressed in the gills, hepatopancreas, muscles, intestine, and hemocytes. Studies using this newly cloned peroxiredoxin gene from Litopenaeus vannamei will add to the existing knowledge base on the physiological role of peroxiredoxin in shrimp species.

Abstract: According to the heavy metal investigation of some practical data in Changchun sewage treatment plant. For wastewater treatment plant and the commonly used treatment process wastewater process of the distribution of heavy metals are analyzed. We studied the heavy metals pollutant removal efficiency of situation with A/O process of wastewater treatment plant in frozen period. And make a comparative analysis of heavy metals pilot plant and demonstration project in water, determine target pollutants and focus on removal. Thus, under low temperature conditions so as to sewage treatment plants effectively remove heavy metal pollutants to provide theoretical guidance for the control of urban sewage treatment by-product of the deposition process to improve the quality of urban sewage treatment and provide scientific basis.

Abstract: By adding nitrobenzene to ABR (anaerobic baffled reactor) acclimation the flora in it, take 5 chambers sludge, extracted DNA and using PCR-DGGE technique amplification and separation product of bacterial 16S rDNA gene V3 region, then study the changes and diversity anaerobic sludge bacteria. The results showed that there was a succession in the communities of 5 reactor compartment, and the microbial diversity changes showing a characteristic of synergistic. ABR reactor has obvious characteristics of multi-phase process.

Abstract: To study the effect of different sucrose concentration on bulblet formation, three kinds of Lilium plantlets, Lilium davidii var. unicolor, L. longiflorum ‘White Heaven’ and L. OT ‘Yelloween’ were inoculated on media containing different sugar concentration. It was found that L. davidii var. unicolo had 100% percent in bulblet formation at the sucrose concentration 100g/L, while the diameter and weight increment of bulblets came to the maximum. Both ‘White Heaven’ and ‘Yelloween’ had 100% percent of bulblets formation on the sucrose concentration at 80g/L and 100 g/L. But the diameter and weight increment of bulblets in different varieties had different results. The maximum of ‘White Heaven’ bulblets could be obtained at sucrose concentration 60g/L, while ‘Yelloween’ at 80g/L. It was concluded that sucrose concentrations at 40~80g/L had a positive impact on these 3 lilies bulblets formation in vitro cultures.

Abstract: To observe the effects of allicin on the growth and apoptosis of gastric cancer cell line. The viability of gastric cancer cell line SGC-7901 was determined by MTT, cell morphology was observed under AO staining and electron microscopy, the apoptosis was measured using flow cytometry analysis. The results indicated that the growth of gastric cancer cell line SGC-7901 was significantly inhibited by allicin, and the IC50 was 80µg/mL. Morphological variations of apoptosis were observed at 48 hours treated with allicin by AO staining and apoptosis body was observed under electron microscope. The results indicated that allicin can suppress the growth of gastric cancer cell line SGC-7901 and induce apoptosis of the cells.
