Abstract: Manufacturing execution systems (MESs) are important information systems in workshop-level. Nowadays, industrial product service systems (iPSSs) are used to decrease the cost by providing professional services for the usages and management of machine tools and their attachments like cutters in manufacturing. This paper studies framework of a workshop-level service-oriented manufacturing execution systems (So-MES) which is supported by industrial product service systems. The framework of the So-MES is built through enabling four basic functions: planning functions, execution functions, service functions and resource functions. Finally, methods for the resource of e-service and product management service are discussed as key enabling techniques in this paper.

Abstract: Service-oriented manufacturing is a new manufacturing paradigm in workshop level. To clarify configuration issues of service-oriented manufacturing executive system (so-MES), a conceptual framework and hierarchical structure model are put forward. The framework consists of three modules: the manufacturing resource distribution, the process-flow planning, the sensor and inspection planning. And then, methodology for enabling the framework is presented in detail. Finally, a simple example is provided to verify the proposed method.

Abstract: This paper describes the 3D model’s setup of diamond manufacturing center with fifteen shafts. It firstly introduces the concept of virtual design and virtual prototype, and common steps for building virtual prototype based on solidworks. Then it introduces the detailed steps of the diamond manufacturing center with fifteen shafts’ 3D model setup which includes parts and assembly. The paper also introduces the analysis of the diamond machine’s movement process. Finally, it gives the conclusion and further research. The research adopts the bottom to top principle and the top to bottom principle.

Abstract: In order to fabricate micro/meso structures, a novel micro-stereolithography (SL) system with dynamic pattern generator using digital micro-mirror device (DMD) has been investigated. The micro-stereolithography system solidifies photo-sensitive resin with image mask generated by dynamic pattern generator. The micro-stereolithography system is made up of dynamic pattern generator, recoating system and control system. The dynamic pattern generator consists of parabolic concentrator, UV lamp, collimating lens, shutter, DMD and its control, lens and computer. UV light intensity distribution in the imaging plane is investigated. Uniformity UV light intensity distribution is obtained in the imaging plane with changing small area’s gray-scale, and the difference between maximum and minimum value of UV light intensity is 0.4µW/cm2. Small size parts with intricate microstructures have been fabricated with the novel SL system. Compared with laser scanning SL system, the advantage of the novel micro-SL system is that the new SL system can build small objects having micro-structures with low cost in shorter time. The novel micro-SL system provides a solution to the problem that has hampered the progress of SL process into high resolution with low cost.

Abstract: Balance precision of gyroscope rotor influences its performance directly. Aiming at the special gyroscope with a spherical cavity mentioned in this paper, a static balance method is proposed. This method can determine not only radial direction but also axial direction relative position between the mass center of rotor and the centroid of rotor’s outer outline. Combined with outer outline location, which can determine the relative position and direction between the mass center of rotor and the centroid of rotor’s outer outline, the relative position and direction between the centroid of spherical cavity and the centroid of outer outline can be determined, and we will know the position of removal amount.

Abstract: Although some research and commercial software for NC simulation is available, NC simulation modeling is still not matured. Most of them are based on G&M code. STEP-NC is a new data model for computer numerical control (CNC). It provides rich information for CNC machine tools, i.e. “what to do” based on features rather than “how to do” as for G-code. IDEF0 is a method designed to model the decisions, actions, and activities of an organization or system. It helps to organize and analyze a system and to promote a good communications between the analyst and the customer. So in this paper, from the view of system modeling, function modeling of NC simulation system based on STEP-NC is built by IDEF0 method. As a result, NC simulation system can be realized more efficiently.

Abstract: To handle semantic heterogeneity, enhance semantic interoperability and achieve automatic understanding and managing of services in the SOA integrated systems, semantic support was required and the SOA should be extended to the semantic SOA (SSOA). For complex product advanced manufacturing systems, a knowledge base (KB) was built by analyzing and abstracting multidisciplinary knowledge of complex product fields. Based on the KB, a knowledge base system (KBS) architecture was proposed to provide semantic support for information sharing and exchanging at the knowledge level.

Abstract: The performance of spindle system of machine tools directly affects the characters of machine tools. The static and dynamic stiffness of spindle system is one of the main factors that affect the machining precision of machine tools and the performance analysis of spindle system occupies an important position in the design of machine tools. Based on ANSYS, this paper analyzed static stiffness, vibration characters and harmonic response of spindle system of SSCK63-400-typed CNC lathe. Selecting improving the characters and saving the cost of spindle as optimization object and using APDL of ANSYS, the optimization of the spindle is completed by the optimization tools of ANSYS. This research provided the basis for statics and dynamics design of spindle system, shortened the design period and improved the design efficiency.

Abstract: In order to support knowledge representation and utilization, a framework of a “product shared information semantic model” is proposed. A method to describe the knowledge of a product is presented according to the framework, including a structure description in OWL and a behavior representation in OWL-S. And a description example about a warhead is given. It shows that the application of OWL and OWL-S can significantly benefit knowledge sharing and reuse in the process of digital design.

Abstract: Based on previous works, this paper proposed an extended access control model for PDM system. In this model, complex access control policies are expressed and enforced to ensure the security of user role assignment, delegation and revocation of PDM system. To reduce system administrator’s work, the model provides an auto revocation mechanism which can be triggered by time, access control policies and user states. This paper also propose an implementation system architecture, an auto revocation algorithm and some examples to show how this complex policy supported access control model works in PDM system.
