Abstract: The urban construction represents a dynamic development process. It not only maintains close ties with the tradition but also highlights the great expectation for the future, so we are faced with the problem of the traditional inheritance and development and its essence lies in the transmission of information, which, in turn, follows the principle of iteration. Therefore, it has a fractal characteristic. This research paper focuses on the modern application of the traditional street, lane and courtyard from the perspective of the information theory and the fractal theory so as to activate the traditional urban elements and give more vigor and vitality to the modern city.

Abstract: Through a lot of CPTU excess pore pressure dissipation tests on Pearl River Delta in China, excess pore pressure dissipation characteristics of different soil layer on Guangzhou-Zhuhai section of Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway and Taishan section of Guangdong West Coast Expressway has been analyzed. The dissipation time of 50% dissipation degree t50 of excess pore pressure dissipation curve by CPTU can be used as the auxiliary method to determine the type of soil, and through CPTU excess pore pressure dissipation tests, the t50 value of sand soil, silt, silty clay, clay soil and silt soil has been obtained; through comparison with the t50 value of different soil, the difference of sand soil, silt and clay soil can be roughly distinguished; the obvious boundary value between the t50 value of clay soil, silty clay and silt soil is not existed, so the t50 value can not be direct to determine the type of these clay type of soil. The achieved results can provide a research foundation for CPTU application research on Pearl River Delta in China.

Abstract: This paper analyses some kinds of fissures in walls of a multi-story masonry buildings with additional floor transformation, and puts up several methods for dealing with the fissures. Through the spot inspection and computation analysis, the reason of crack producing is put forward. Because the ring beams only built in the first and the top floor, and precast floor slabs used in the building, the overall structure rigidity is poor. The internal longitudinal wall is strengthened by steel tension bar, simultaneously; an addition shallow submersion foundation is added on the original foundation. After the reinforcement processing, the structure is complete until now.

Abstract: The difference of the mechanical performance between the whole bridge pylon and the segment model are analyzed in theoretical method to provide theoretical support for the full-scale segmental model test study. Firstly, choose the most representative full-scale segment in anchorage zone of bridge pylon. Secondly, select the whole model composed of several segments. Finally, analysis the stress distributions in two models under the working load and the cracking load. In the coordinate segment position, stress distribution under design cable force in whole model and full scale segment model is almost the same. It indicates that the working performance of the anchorage zone in the bridge pylon can be studied through the full-scale segment model test.

Abstract: Hangzhou City is now experiencing lots of urban regenerations known as "Street and Lane reform" and "Garden Improvement Project", yet practically the results sometimes turned out to be different from that is expected. The phenomenon derives from various social realities, which is based upon the Chinese background nowadays. This essay takes these two issues as examples and analyzes both of their successful and unsuccessful experiences in three aspects, such as the pubic investment in private realm, government domination and public participation. It tries to find out what is working behind the whole operating system which makes the community working as we hoped. Finally, it argues that giving the community authorization could be the better community regeneration solution mode, and provides how to attract the private capital to make the regeneration really effective.

Abstract: This paper used the finite element method to simulate the engineering structure for large complex steel truss structure installation plan. The simulation results provide the basis for the scheme selection, and it is compared with the measured results and theoretical calculation to prove that the simulation technology is necessary and correct.

Abstract: Nowadays, the increasing awareness of environmental impacts from construction wastes has led to the development of waste management as an important function of construction project management. Various theories and approaches for managing construction wastes have been developed in the existing research works and practices. The objective of this descriptive study is to analyze the current status of construction management and indicate the directions for future study. Based on a review of literature, this paper gives a framework of construction waste management from the view of fields, methods and measures in existing researches, and then it indicates several directions for further study, such as behavior and incentive scheme, assessment and evaluation system, multi-objective optimization the application of information technology and so on.

Abstract: In order to optimize the design of flexible pressurized anchor, this paper gives a further analysis on structural features of the new type of flexible pressurized anchor and carries out a contact analysis on anchor system by using the finite element method. It calculates as well as researches the contact stress relation of interactional anchor rod and surrounding rock under the circumstance of anchoring, obtaining the law of all major design parameters of anchor rod structure and pressure from surrounding rock influencing the anchoring performance and arriving at the conclusion that the anchor rod is adapted to various conditions of surrounding rock. They not only serve as important references for optimized design and application of anchor rod, but also provide a basis for the experiment of new type of anchor rod.

Abstract: In order to treat community domestic wastewater, the UCT (the University of Cape Town) process coupled with the Hybrid Membrane Bioreactor (HMBR) was selected to constitute a combination process UCT-HMBR. This hybrid reactor was characterized by high total biomass and low membrane fouling. After 42 days’ running, a significant biofilm was formed in the reactor. Data collected during 60-day stable running period showed that the average CODCr and ammonia removal efficiency are 95.7% and 97.7%, respectively. When the nitrate liquid recycle ratio is 300% the total phosphorus (TP) removal reaches the peak and TP removal efficiency is 83.2%. At the same time, the effluent total nitrogen is less than 15mg/L. The effluent of the UCT-HMBR can meet the national water reuse standard.
