Abstract: Global climate change is increasing the occurrence of extreme climate phenomenon with increasing severity, both in terms of human casualty as well as economic losses. Authorities need to be better equipped to face these global truths. This paper reviewed a technological solution for search and rescue operations using wireless sensor networks (WSN). WSN is able to provide more efficient search and rescue operations and lessening the risk faced by rescuers. In this paper the design issues and existing WSN for search and rescue projects are reviewed.

Abstract: Although organizational slack research posits various relationships between a firm’s slack resources and innovation, findings to date have been ambiguous. To provide insight into this relationship, this paper studies the impact of slack resources on the innovation performance of material firms by using empirical analysis based on the data get from 54 firms in Henan Province by questionnaire. The result shows that the relationship between slack resources and innovation in material firms is the inverted U-shaped. Overall, results highlight the importance of additional research into intervening factors impacting the slack–innovation relationship.

Abstract: In this paper, the typical deterioration of Northern Approach of Binzhou Yellow River Bridge is reviewed and the method of strengthening is proposed. Based on the theory of grillage method, T-beam grillage is modeled using finite element analysis software Midas civil to study the dynamic behavior of North approach’s superstructure after strengthening. Concerns about integrity of the carrying capacity and overall safety of the bridge are raised. Load simulation tests were performed to evaluate the effectiveness of the method and investigate its effect on structural behavior. And the results indicated that the bridge after strengthening could meet the demanding of intensity and rigidity.

Abstract: In recent years, much research has been devoted to the biomimetics research; however, few have deployed the study of the research trend. In fact, grasping the research trend is imperative for enterprises and researchers. The study aims at analyzing the trend change of biomimetics research from 2001 to 2010. The contribution of the study includes the following two points. First, the study has found the shift of the biomimetics research from shifts from “scaffold” and “engine” related issues to the focuses of “surface” and “structure”. Second, the study finds a new way of literature survey by using the text mining method in order to explore the trend change.

Abstract: In many real life applications, jobs deteriorate at a certain rate while waiting to be processed. This paper introduces a new deterioration model where the actual processing time of a job depends not only on the starting time of the job but also on its scheduled position. We show that the single-machine makespan minimization problem remains polynomially solvable under the proposed model. We also show that an optimal schedule of the total completion time minimization problem is polynomially solvable under some cases and-shaped with respect to job deterioration rates for other cases.

Abstract: This paper is based on an existed bridge---ramp bridge A of Mu-Shi interlinked flyover on Zao-Mu Freeway. The model of curved Box Girder Bridge was built using finite element method to simulate the stretching of prestressed tendons. To start with, several different alternative stretching orders were proposed, and afterwards, mechanical reflection of bridge under different stretching orders was calculated and evaluated respectively by commonly used finite element analysis software Midas. Additionally, evaluation principle was to avoid the appearance of tension in the concrete and to minimize stress fluctuation during stretching. To sum up, optimal stretching sequence was put forward after comparison of the calculation results based on the proposed evaluation principle. Moreover, the optimum sequence referred in this paper and the research approach can provide some valuable referential information about the stretching of prestressed tendons of bridges in the same style.

Abstract: A new method of fault sample selection is presented. First, the mapping relationship is established between the system components and system functions attributes according to the similarity of the system components and system functions attributes, the components are clustered to the class by fuzzy clustering method; then the fault sample is selected in the class according to relation of the faults propagation, the selected fault sample is validated by using the function adequacy and test adequacy. Finally From experimental results, the conclusion can be drown that the cost of this method is lower and the fault detection ratio is high. Compare with the other method the new method has certain advantages.

Abstract: The frame theory has been one of powerful tools for researching into wavelets. In this article, the notion of orthogonal nonseparable quarternary wavelet wraps, which is the generalizati- -on of orthogonal univariate wavelet wraps, is presented. A novel approach for constructing them is presented by iteration method and functional analysis method. A liable approach for constructing two-directional orthogonal wavelet wraps is developed. The orthogonality property of quarternary wavelet wraps is discussed. Three orthogonality formulas concerning these wavelet wraps are estabished. A constructive method for affine frames of L2(R4) is proposed. The sufficient condition for the existence of a class of affine pseudoframes with filter banks is obtained by virtue of a generalized multiresolution analysis. The pyramid decomposition scheme is established based on such a generalized multiresolution structure.

Abstract: Frames have become the focus of active research field, both in theory and in applications. In the article, the binary minimum-energy wavelet frames and frame multiresolution resolution are introduced. A precise existence criterion for minimum-energy frames in terms of an ineqity conditi- -on on the Laurent poly-nomial symbols of the filter functions is provided. An explicit formula for designing minimum-energy frames is also established. The sufficient condition for the existence of affine pseudoframes is obtained by virtue of a generalized multiresolution analysis. The pyramid de -composition scheme is established based on such a generalized multiresolution structure.

Abstract: In this paper, the notion of biorthogonal two-directional shortly supported wavelets with poly-scale is developed. A new method for designing two-directional biorthogonal wavelets is proposed. The existence of shortly supported biorthogonal vector-valued wavelets associated with a pair of biorthogonal compactly supported vector-valued scaling functions is investigated. A novel constructive method for designing a sort of biorthogonal vector-valued wavelet wraps is presented and their biorthogonality traits are characerized. Two biorthogonality formulas regarding these wavelet wraps are established.
