Abstract: Alkylation of phenol with cyclohexanol catalyzed by acidic ionic liquid has been investigated. The influences of reaction temperature, reaction time, reactant ratio (mol ratio of phenol to cyclohexanol), the amount and the recycle of ionic liquid on catalytic activity were studied. The conversion of phenol and the selectivity of paracyclohexylphenol were 75.5% and 61.6%, respectively, under optimum reaction conditions. The ionic liquid was utilized repeatedly over three times without remarkable loss of catalytic activity.

Abstract: DSM SOMOS 11120 type photosensitive resin possessed the biggest consumption for the stereolithography fabricated parts. Therefore the further research on DSM SOMOS 11120 type photosensitive resin was very meaningful and valuable. In the paper, DSM SOMOS 11120 type photosensitive resin was characterized by infrared (IR) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, showing the presence of epoxy and acrylic functional groups. The viscosity of the 11120 type photosensitive resin were also determined, indicating that the viscosity at 30°C was 260mPa.s. Meanwhile, the mechanical and thermal properties of its UV-cured specimens were evaluated, testing that the tensile strength was 50.8MPa, the tensile modulus was 2659MPa, the elongation at break was 11.3%, and the glass transistion temperature was 49°C.

Abstract: Sulfated zirconia supported on HMS mesoporous silica (SZ-HMS) was prepared and evaluated by catalytic epoxidation of soybean oil. The preparation procedure of SZ-HMS included soaking of HMS with ZrOCl2, and then sulfating with H2SO4. The samples were characterized by IR, XRD, and N2-adsorption. SZ-HMS kept the typical mesoporous crystalline as well as pore structure and exhibited an excellent catalytic performance for the epoxidation of soybean oil. The best catalytic activity, 4.4 of epoxy value, is acquired over the SZ-HMS sample prepared by 0.2 mol/L of ZrOCl2 concentration, 0.75 mol/L of H2SO4 concentration, and 823 K of calcination temperature.

Abstract: In this paper, a composite ZSM-5/MCM-48 material prepared by two step crystallization method has been characterized by XRD, nitrogen sorption, SEM and TEM. The activity and selectivity for the aromatization of methanol on ZSM-5/MCM-48 catalyst were much higher than these on H-ZSM-5, which may attribute to enhance the mass transfer properties and reduced diffusional limitations.

Abstract: Employed methanol, toluene, formaldehyde, 4-tert-octylphenol, and hydroxylamine as raw materials, triumphantly obtained a new extractant for copper by the processes of salinization reaction, formylation reaction, oximate reaction and so on, the purity of new extractant is > 98% by purity test. The extraction performances are very perfect. The maximal extraction efficiency is up to 90.4% for Cu2+ by single-stage extraction, and recovering Cu2+ in 170g/L H2SO4 medium by stripping, stripping of copper >99.3% can be obtained. The preparation cost of the extractant is very low. It can contribute to better development of hydrometallurgy for copper, and gradually reduce dependence of Chinese copper industries on overseas corporations.

Abstract: Tin and nickel ions are in stable complexing form in Pyrophosphate tin-nickel alloy plating bath, this paper uses back-titration of Zn2+ standard solution to determine total amount of tin and nickel ions, and spectrophotometry to determine content of nickel ions in the bath to study interference and elimination methods of co-existing components. The results show that: eliminate the interference of pyrophosphate by heating the solution to hydrolyse and mask Sn4+ and Fe3+ effectively with triethanolamine, the total measurement error is about 0.91%, standard deviation is 0.0141; The recovery of determination for nickel ion content is 99.13%, and standard deviation is 0.0180; The method i-s simple, fast and is able to meet the analytical requirements for controlling the plating quality.

Abstract: 2-(2′-Hydroxyphenyl)-5-amino-2H-benzotriazole was synthesized and subjected to acylamidation to yield three new ultraviolet (UV) absorbers. The largest absorption wavelength and the relationship between the concentration and the maximum absorbance of the UV absorbers were measured in dimethylsulfoxide. Then the four benzotriazole type UV absorbers were dispersed and applied onto polyester fabrics with the high temperature and pressure dyeing method. The stabilizing effect against UV light of the finished fabrics was studied by ultraviolet protection factor (UPF) and UV transmittance measurement.

Abstract: 3-amino-1-adamantanemethanol was synthesized from adamantane carboxylic acid following the procedures of Ritter reaction, hydrolysis, neutralization and reduced reaction without the participation of bromine. The total yield of 3-amino-1-adamantanemethanol was 43%. The structure of the target compound was characterized by elemental analysis, IR, MS, 1HNMR,etc. In addition, the possible reaction mechanisms was proposed.

Abstract: A novel cationic waterborne epoxy emulsion for oil filter paper was synthesized. Hydrophilic groups were introduced into a multifunctional bisphenol-A novolac epoxy resin (NEP) by chemical modification, while maintaining the epoxy groups as many as possible, which were neutralized to form the equably water dispersed epoxy resin. The structure of modified NEP in different rate of ring-opening was characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). The emulsion particle dispersion and micromorphology of waterborne bisphenol-A novolac epoxy resin (WNEP) was detected by granularity measured instrument and TEM. Mechanical properties and microstructure of oil filter papers impregnated by five different waterborne epoxy emulsions were tested and observed by SEM. From the results it can be shown that oil filter paper impregnated by WNEP emulsion has comprehensive properties better than other four commercialized products, exhibiting the best air permeability and improved bursting strength15% higher than that impregnated by poly-styrene-acrylate (PSA) latex.
